Default control schemes are pretty bad compared to community made ones.Sometimes upon exiting BB (normal main menu exit) is puts the steam deck in a loading logo loop (easy to get out of, but inconvenient).Opening the steam keyboard manually isn't as seemless as a “click text box to open keyboard”, and having to bind backspace to a button instead of the onscreen keyboard working with backspace. The slight inconvenience of not being able to "Fast click" on the world map for better pathing without it wanting to drag your camera.I tend to use show obstacles a lot, so I made a bound to that as well. Also bound backspace to a button, and with that combined the steam deck keyboard, you can fully type now.Made a custom configuration to include all the important buttons, taking out lesser ones like R for the relations menu, and de-emphasized elevation buttons.Bound scroll up and down to right trackpad up and down.Additionally, the ability to cycle through abilities with a highlight on the abilities like a console game would be good, but assigning # hotkeys does exist and the clicking of abilities isn't too inconvenient. It'd also be nice to have an easy way to scroll through your inventory/market, or also have a key assigned to leaving the shop screen. "Fast clicking" to direct your pathing, while also moving the mouse doesn't truly work the best, as it ends up panning the camera with a click and drag half the time. Somehow this desync could be a personal problem, but I am unsure. But I'm fine with having separate runs for different devices.

I have saves from 2 months ago, but not saves from today on my steam deck (pretty sure the new saves I create do pop up on my pc version tho). My only true complaint is that my cloud saves are not synced (despite saying so on both devices). The performance is superb, the battery life out to be good since it runs the game really well, unlike a laptop I bought to play BB years ago that would lag on the world map like crazy. This configuration also allows to the text: spacebar " ", "T","I", and "X", which I can use for labeling units for their potential, but on-screen keyboard support would make it so much better. It will take a bit of muscle memory to get used to quick play using the steam deck, but clicking with the A button seems much better than the trackpad or triggers to me. I've gotten mine too the other day, I seem to prefer one of the alternate controller layouts made by a different user (ps4 controller layout?).
